Alaska Subspecialty Pediatric Network Team
Dr. Rachel Kerford Lescher, MD
Dr. Rachel Kerford Lescher, MD is a board-certified pediatric endocrinologist. She joined Alaska Native Medical Center in 2011 after completing her fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Lescher completed her residency in pediatrics at University of California, Irvine and earned her medical degree from University of Missouri in Columbia. She works with various ages across Alaska who have hormone diseases or concerns. Although her main office is in Specialty Pediatrics at Anchorage Native Primary Care Center, she also conducts visits by telehealth and travels to rural clinics throughout Alaska.
Dr. Jennifer Susan Bracamontes, MD
Dr. Jennifer Susan Bracamontes is a dedicated pediatric endocrinologist at Southcentral Foundation, where she previously served as clinical faculty at Seattle Children’s Hospital. A Harvard University alumna, she earned her medical degree in 2016 from University of San Diego. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a child, Dr. Bracamontes combines personal experience with professional expertise to passionately treat pediatric endocrine disorders. Her commitment to child health equity is reflected in her completion of a specialized fellowship in this area. She is a member of the Acjachemen Nation and in her free time, she travels and spends time outdoors with her daughter.
Dr. Parisa Salehi, MD
Dr. Parisa Salehi earned her medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in 2007. She completed her pediatric training at Children’s Hospital of Orange County in 2010 and a pediatric endocrine fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles in 2013. Dr. Salehi worked at Seattle Children’s Hospital for 11 years, serving as an associate professor of pediatrics in endocrinology. She has extensive experience in endocrine care, diabetes management, and gender-affirming care. She also developed and directed the Prader-Willi Syndrome Clinic, and was a medical provider in the Gender Clinic. Dr. Salehi enjoys traveling, gardening, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her family, including her active toddler.
Sarah Wood
Sarah Wood was born and raised in Alaska. She enjoys the summers in Alaska and looks forward to hiking, camping, fishing, and spending time at her family cabin on the Kenai River. Sarah has worn many hats before finding her career in nursing. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2012 and then received a nursing degree in 2013. Sarah spent most of her nursing career working in the field of adolescent behavioral health and forensic nursing. Her love for community shaped her nursing philosophy, emphasizing advocacy for holistic healing, and customer-owner-centered care. Sherry Hammock
Sherry Hammock has been working in pediatric endocrinology since 2011. She received her nursing degree in 1984 and earned her Ph.D. in education and research in 2022. She worked as a critical care nurse in a teaching hospital setting and in the Air Force prior to joining SCF. She is currently in the United States Public Health Corps. Sherry was born in France, raised in Colorado, and has been in Alaska for the past 18 years. She enjoys fishing in the midnight sun, hunting, and traveling. Jessica Kelley
Jessica Kelley was born and raised in rural Alaska. She graduated from University of Alaska Anchorage with a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2007. She joined Southcentral Foundation in May of 2024 as a nurse case manager for the pediatric endocrinology team. She has extensive experience working in adult cardiology private practice and in pediatrics inpatient and outpatient settings. When Jessica was 15 years old, she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes which was life changing and it began her goal to becoming a nurse working with children with diabetes and chronic illnesses. Pamela Horan, RD
Pam Horan joined SCF in 2020 in the pediatric clinic. She previously supported families with diabetes in Alaska through the Providence Pediatric Subspecialty Clinic and is excited to be back in the role of diabetes educator at Southcentral Foundation. Pam received her nutrition degree at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and completed her dietetic internship at Cal State Long Beach.
