Community Health Aide Trainee opportunities
Community Health Aide Trainees receive on-the-job training needed to become a qualified Community Health Aide or Community Health Aide Practitioner in rural Alaska.
In partnership with the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium and the Community Health Aide Program, a Community Health Aide at SCF is responsible for providing acute, chronic, emergency, and preventive medical health care to village residents under the direction of the medical doctors in Anchorage and according to the CHA/P Manual.

Community Health Aid Trainee minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
Clinic setting:
- Provide health care to Alaska Native, American Indian, and non-Native people.
- Work regular clinic hours Monday-Friday, with rotating on-call hours.
- Local clinical team — administrative staff, advance practice providers and fellow community health aides (location dependent)
- Professional support from a consulting care team (provider and registered nurse) in Anchorage, along with emergent care support from the Alaska Native Medical Center Emergency Department.
- Specialty consultation available via phone or telemedicine.
